Mehregan Kazemi (*1985) is a visual artist and educator, born and raised in Tehran. In 2010, following the Iranian Green movement protests, Mehregan was forced to leave her country for France where she continued her studies. She is a graduate of the University of the Arts in Tehran and got her MFA at Université Paris 8. Currently she is a residence at Atelier du Coteau in Nantes where she also teaches.

Mehregan Kazemi was participating in the exhibition LOCUS: Upcoming Iranian Artists Abroad which took place between October 23 and November 22nd  2014 at GEMAK.

Mehregan Kazemi explores, through her various works, themes such as loneliness, the passage of time, nostalgia and the place of women in society. Through her works she raises questions about Human Rights.

This is the seventh edition in a series of events presenting emerging European and international artists. Our mission is to

communicate and to ignite a new dialogue from the artist’s perspective. Mbassy Unlimited is an independent

alliance for contemporary art & culture seeking to create new equity for the arts in an increasingly challenging time. It is founded by Margret Wibmer, an international artist and lecturer.
